The activities of the Marche Region
Cultural Heritage Service are aimed at the restoration, enhancement and
promotion of cultural heritage in the framework of regional territorial
policies.
In the archaeological field, the Service
has activated the application of a regional law issued in 1994 concerning the
safeguard and the enhancement of the archaeological heritage to define a map of
archeological sites relevant to regional policies, with the institution of
seven archaeological parks, and to outline a programme of investments in a five

in the preservation and enhancement of archeological evidences, has been a good
experience of institutional integration for the improvement of territorial
planning activities.

system, the Service has promoted a pilot project to realize a thematic
cartography on a 1:2.000 scale, to allow local authorities to plan sustainable
interventions. The project aims also to a better definition of parks borders
with reference to the cultural, economical and environmental contexts.
Territorial analysis and surveys has been carried out in the same occasion on
the ancient roman route Flaminia, which is characterized by several important
roman monuments and archaeological items on display in the small local museums
along the way.

Service is responsible for the caring out of a Measure specifically dedicated
to the restoration and the promotion of the cultural heritage, with an action

the selection procedures, 8 projects for open-air museums and five projects for
the improvement of connected “traditional” archaeological museums have been co
